Spanish casino scene enjoying impressive Q2 revenues

As the Spanish online casino gaming industry has gone through a profound change in regulation, many wondered how it would perform. So far, 2019 has seen a series of positive results – and the latest second-quarter results are now in. it would appear that the gaming scene in Spain is in pretty rude health, with a 7% growth rate from Q1 to Q2.

The gross gaming revenue of the Spanish regulated online scene witnessed around €178m of revenue in the second quarter of 2019. However, sports betting did account for the largest part of that growth, with around €86m of the revenue coming from sports betting alone.

These figures, though, show that there is massive life still in the Spanish online casino gaming scene. Having gone through massive adjustments and reforms in recent times, this is a very impressive step forward for the entire industry. With fears that it could become hobbled and weakened by the introduction of extra regulation, the fear was that it could become major challenge overtime to keep high revenue numbers coming in.

Regulation, though, appears to have only helped to make the market more profitable and successful for the country itself. With added regulation and control over what companies can take part in the Spanish scene, these added regulations can only be a positive in the long-run.

As such, it’s exciting to see what the future will hold for a deeply exciting Spanish casino gaming scene. With revenue figures creating widespread optimism, there’s plenty of excitement in the air.
