As one of the biggest names in the UK and online betting industry, Sky Bet has been around for some time. It’s a major player for a lot of people, and its rapid rise to fame came thanks in no small part to the work of Richard Flint. Flint, though, is about to move on from the company – having been involved for seventeen years.
His exit will come after the company successfully integrates with The Stars Group. Having been involved in the company since 2001, he’s served as CEO since 2008 and in that time has been a major player in their rise to the top of the gaming scene. The deal that was put together for Sky Bet under his watch, at around £3.4bn, is the largest publicly listed deal for a gambling company. After becoming one of the major names in the UK online casino gaming scene, Flint played a massive role in its expansion into the competitive Italian and German markets.
Moving on from the company is a bit of a surprise, though it has been rumoured for some time. For Sky Bet, they could scarcely have asked for more from a man who has given the company so much. His impressive attention to detail and his eye for value has been a major part of their rise up the rankings, and his exit from the company will no doubt bring about the end of a hugely successful tenure in gaming.
