Despite being one of the biggest names in the online casino scene in Scandinavia, LeoVegas has had some serious issues breaking into the scene. Indeed, they’ve had some legal troubles come from their debates, as well. Most recently, though, they were able to succeed in a major court victory, which seen them finally gain an extension to their Swedish online casino gaming license.
This has added a whopping five years to their deal with the Swedish gaming scene. As one of the most important online casino platforms out there, LeoVegas holds a massive reputation across the wider gaming scene. Having been one of the first to gain a license from the Swedish Gambling Authority back in November 2018, with companies only licensed by the official regulators in the country allowed to take part in betting and online casino gaming in Sweden.
However, they only received a two-year deal, to begin with – they wanted to get a five-year deal in place. Having pushed for this change to finally come, this marks the end of a long, drawn-out, and needlessly public argument between state and operator.
LeoVegas had been given a shorter license due to problems they were having in the UK online casino gaming scene. Having finally overcome the legal challenge, though, it seems like LeoVegas will now get the five-year application that they were so desperate to pick up at the beginning of proceedings.
