After what has felt like an ongoing and somewhat protracted debate, it appears that Belarus is set for wholesale change to its gambling laws. The new Decree No. 305, signed by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, will legalize the use of online gambling in online casinos. With changes to everything from licensing to taxation, this finally puts in place a clear program that will allow the Belarusian market to tap into their thriving, in-demand online gambling industry.
Those who will be able to take part in the organization of online gambling will need to participate in gaining a license. This will require also a guarantee deposit into an account which will be used to help ensure that payouts can be made in the event of the company not being able to continue. Also, the users of casinos online will be expected to undergo much more stringent identity checks than previously.
This is to try and help to change the pathway of gambling in the country, and ensure the system can be as fair as possible to all. Also, the age of gambling for online casinos and also any other activity has changed rising from 21 when previously set at 18.
The aim is to try and ensure that security and safety will become the norm. this will also help to reduce the amount of money that is able to leave the country, due to the limitation of foreign online casino gaming sites operating within the sphere.
For now, though, it looks like Belarus will be taking the opportunity to become a pro-online gambling nation and reap the rewards of a legitimate and regulated system.
