US Gambler Loses $15k in Winnings after Forfeit!

While most people in the UK are used to the mature and lax gambling rules here, US residents are not so lucky. While over here we get to make the use of the best UK free spins on the market and even get to keep what you win, the States is VERY strict about its gambling laws. Nevermind finding the best new casinos UK players can enjoy over the pond: the US leaves people with next to no choice for such a past-time.

The problem stems from one Atlanta City-based gamer, who voluntarily signed up to a state gambling ban list. He identified himself as ST on the ban list and signed up in a bid to beach the punch where he would eventually be forced to sign up. ST was ordered to give back a whopping $15,500 in winnings and earnings because he never demanded a hearing in the strict timeline that was specified.

The self-exclusion list by the Division of Gaming Enforcement in the state was put together to help people who suffer from gambling issues to get help. It made it easier for these people to ban themselves from the Atlantic City online and in-house gaming opportunities. As one of the few parts of the US that allow such forms of online gaming, the rampant nature of gambling in the area has seen many people become forced to take a step back and take a closer look at what they are doing to themselves.

This one gambler, though, needs to give back all that he or she earned. We’ll be sure to bring you some more on this story when it breaks but, at present, this is a very interesting story. Should someone who has exiled themselves from gambling really need to give up the money that they earned while doing so?

Is that fair?

Let us know what you think: it’s a tough one to really decide upon.
